In the eastern Eyre Peninsula you will find another beautiful bay with sandy beaches and very blue water. We were blown away at how beautiful Tumby Bay is, even though the wind was incredible and really rocked the caravan around.
We stayed at the Tumby Bay Caravan Park right on the foreshore. Great large level grassed or gravel sites. The amenities are older but very clean as is the camp kitchen, laundry and BBQ areas
At the time we stayed it was very peaceful, but we were told by Christmas it will be packed. So we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. Tumby Bay boasts a 10 kilometre long white sandy beach and it is absolutely brilliant for walking. The foreshore also has some wonderful walking and cycle paths which take you right into town.
When in town make sure you stop in at Rawles Country Bakery. We did and thoroughly enjoyed a pulled pork pie with coffee. Yum.
We also stopped and bought some quality meat at “Meat at Tumby Quality Butcher” where we indulged in two huge brontosaurus steaks……..actually they are rib eyed steaks on the bone. We also bought a couple of marinated pork loin fillets…….yum yum and yum. So looking forward to eating these great delights over the next few days.
We didn’t go fishing so unfortunately can’t tell you what it’s like. We did however drive to Port Lincoln to get the Jeep serviced and yet again stock up on foods.
