The weather we are having as we drive through the southern Riverina area of NSW is stunning. Beautiful blue skies and warm sunny days. Can’t ask for any better than that.
We loved the town of Tocumwal NSW located on the Murray River just near the Victorian border. You can access the Murray River from the main street and have your picture taken with the giant “Murray Cod”. You can’t miss it.
The main street of Tocumwal is another town that has the most charming old buildings. It’s also got quite a few Cafes and Tearooms and of course the Pub. We needed a couple of items so we went into the IGA Supermarket The store was well stocked. You’ll also find a Butcher and Baker but no candle stick maker……….hahaha . Sorry could not resist.
There’s also a few knick knack and antique stores, oh and some lovely clothes stores….if you feel like a little retail therapy. I am being very good as we don’t need any more stuff ………in the van.
The other thing I have noticed is that so many of these towns have the most stunning roses which are in full bloom and just look fantastic as you drive along the streets. Tocumwal is an RV friendly town and has plenty of room for you to park your van in one of the side streets.
As we left Tocumwal and headed off over the bridge into Victoria we noticed that the banks of the Murray River on the Victorian side were pretty busy with Caravans, Motorhomes and other campers enjoying the area.
