SA TO WA BORDER – CARAVAN AND CAMPING STAYS – 2019

Here is a list of our stays while in SA before we crossed the SA/WA border.

Renmark – River Bend Caravan Park is situated right on the banks of the Murray River before you get to Renmark.

Tailem Bend – We found the perfect place to base yourself to explore the Adelaide Hills and the surrounding Murray River lands. Or maybe you are travelling from Melbourne to Adelaide or further West and need a stopover. Even more if you’re a bit of a rev head (motor sports enthusiast) …….well you’re going to love this caravan park.

Mallala – This is a wonderful town encouraging campers and caravanners to stop for a night. You must be totally self-contained and you will be fined if you drop grey water onto the ground. The area is flat and there is plenty of room for everyone. They even have a rainwater tank for drinking water.

Coobowie -Yorke Peninsula or The Coastal Way as it is also known. For those of you who don’t know this area it is the part of South Australia’s peninsula coast that looks like a boot on the map. It starts at Port Wakefield and then ends in Port Broughton and is approximately 485 kilometres. We stopped at a few of the towns before settling in for the night at a town located in the heel – Coobowie. It’s at the head of Salt Creek Bay and the beach has a rocky shoreline.

Point Turton – Wow what a great place. Point Turton is a very peaceful village overlooking Hardwicke Bay. If you’re into fishing you will love this place. Honestly just a hop step and a jump from the park is the jetty and boat ramp.

Baroota Campground – The camp ground is on 20 acres of land and set up for tents, camper trailers, caravans and mobile homes. There is plenty of room but do yourself a favour and walk 🤔🚶‍♂️ around to find your camping spot for the night.

Whyalla – We are visiting some towns on the Eyre Peninsula that we missed on our trip of Oz last year. We have spent a few nights in Whyalla at the Discovery Parks Caravan Park.

Cowell

Streaky Bay – Our second last stop on the West coast of the Eyre Peninsula has been at Streaky Bay where we stayed at the Streaky Bay Islands Caravan Park. All I can say is wow, and wow and wow.

Nullarbor Roadhouse – After almost two weeks of enjoying Streaky Bay today was the day to move on and continue our journey towards WA. So tonight we are overnighting at the Nullarbor Roadhouse.
