Making our way north to Karratha along the North West Coastal Highway we stopped and had lunch by the Robe River, Fortescue. Actually it was the Robe River 24hr rest area and we were very impressed. The sealed area is large enough to suit all types of caravans, motor homes, 5th wheelers and campers and had some great facilities.
• Two dump points
• Two toilets
• BBQ’s and fire pits
• Shaded table areas
• Bins
• Even limited free Wi-Fi
• NO power or drinking water
It was enjoyable sitting in the shade watching the cattle roam along the banks of the river even though the temperature was a hot 40c. It would have been a great overnight stop but as the day was very hot and we were well ahead of schedule we kept on travelling.
You will find it on Wikicamps.
Well that’s enough for now.
