After we left Manjimup, Western Australia we headed into Perth my home town to spend some quality time with my family. Even though we are not use to traffic congestion, we managed to negotiate our way through four lanes of peak hour freeway mayhem to our destination at Karrinyup Waters Resort.
I can’t begin to tell you what a sigh of relief we both felt when we were eventually parked on our site and still talking to each other. Sometimes being the navigator can become quite stressful, but I guess the same can be said for the driver. It also doesn’t help when the Jeep’s GPS system has not kept up to date with the new freeways and roadways. Hahaha
Our time in Perth saw quite a diverse amount of emotions as we caught up with my very close family and most of the time we entertained at the caravan with their help. They were all eager to see what it’s like to live in a caravan fitted out for long distance and extended travelling time. We received a thumbs up from all.
During our stay we really didn’t do any sightseeing as one day blended into the next very quickly and we had a few caravan issues that needed to be attended to under the Jayco warranty. This meant leaving our site, yep packing up everything as if we were on to the next destination but actually we only did two cross-city trips in the one day.
Some of you maybe thinking why we didn’t find a Caravan Park nearby, and rightly so. Reason being we wanted to be closer to the family. Anyway we did it and are so thankful for the great service Jayco Caravanland gave us. Our time was also spent attending a Dental clinic (ouch), and visiting one of the major shopping centres for some supplies.
We really don’t have many photos to share with you other than where we stayed. This was a very large Caravan and Cabin Park in the suburbs. We thought about why we didn’t take a pic when we were driving along the freeway past the city buildings and in all the traffic. We were too fixated on which lane to get into so as not to get lost. Dragging a caravan through peak hour traffic along highways and freeways can be quite taxing.
I guess we have been spoilt during our travels. Most of the places we have stayed during this trip have given us the feeling of freedom. But it was all worth the effort to catch up with family. As sad as it was to say our goodbyes we are happy to be on the road again and now heading north. More adventures to come.
PS: For those wanting to visit Perth though Karrinyup Waters Resort is in a good location to most places when your not towing the van 😉
