From Junee we headed to our next destination Narrandera which is situated inland on the Murrumbidgee River.
We stayed a few nights at the Lake Talbot Tourist Park which is awesome. At the moment we are ahead of the crowd so these parks are not crowded which of course we love. Wow what an awesome place set overlooking Lake Talbot. Owners Jan and Graeme were great in giving us loads of information of what to see and do in the area.
So let’s start with some house work.
✅Fantastic powered concrete drive-thru sites and most have views over the Lake. These are very suitable for the bigger rigs.
✅Large grassed powered and unpowered sites.
✅A couple of very clean amenity blocks
✅Laundry
✅Excellent TV and Telstra reception
✅Free 300mb WiFi
✅Pet friendly
✅Camp kitchen
✅Children’s Playground
✅Free BBQ area
✅Kiosk
Just a hop step and a jump from the park is the Lake Talbot Swimming Complex which is pretty awesome. For those of you wanting an adrenalin rush you can take the plunge on the Rampage Slide which is a high speed 100m water slide. Otherwise just enjoy a leisurely swim…..the views to the Lake and surrounds are beautiful.
Afternoon drinks for us were so enjoyable as we could sit and watch families coming and going as they enjoyed their social interactions. The water skiing and wake bordering fraternity seem to have the place ‘wired’. Very entertaining.
We were so excited with the prospect that we may spot a Koala in their natural habitat and after reading that there are over 200 in the area we were sure we would spot one, maybe two. You can walk to the Narrandera Flora and Fauna Reserve from the caravan park, so off we went. You need to look in the river red gums as this is a delicious source of food for them…….looking looking…tripping over exposed tree roots and other things, as we looked up high and searched thinking they may be high up or sheltering in the fork of a tree……..looking looking……….nope not a Koala in sight for us today…..but the walk did us the world of good.
Make sure you pop into town and of course visit the Narrandera Visitor Information Centre where you can pick up loads of information about the town and surrounding areas. Oh and check out the ‘Big Playable Guitar’.
Right next door step into the Tiger Moth Memorial. The main feature here is the display of a DH 82 Tiger Moth. Entry is free but you can drop a donation into the box to say thanks as you leave.
Also take the time to walk around town as there is a fountain of interesting things to enjoy.
Another beautiful town to enjoy. Thanks Narrandera 😄👍
