We spent a relaxing couple of nights at Lake Albert Caravan Park, Meningie, SA. The grass sites are well maintained and many people park on the waterfront of the Lake. We chose a grassed spot one row back from the Lake. Graeme is happy that he can walk around barefooted on the well manicured grass/lawn and not get a prickle or two in his feet and I am happy that he has not walked lawn clippings into the caravan… yeah……I know what you must be saying or thinking, but it’s the little things in life that make me happy.
The amenities in the park are old but very very clean and well maintained and cared for. Great to see.
The town has some great Lakeside walking paths with some interesting information totems along the way.
There are some wonderful and interesting roosting areas for the Pelicans which is a delight to watch.
Next door to the Caravan Park you will find the Meningie’s Cheese Factory Restaurant and The Old Cheese Factory Museum.
There appears to be a few professional fishermen in town who sell Coorong fresh mullet at the advertised price of $25 kilo. No we did not get any as our freezer is too full with food already.
Lovely stay thanks Lake Albert.
Well that’s enough for now.
