We could have pushed through to Airlie but as we enjoy stopping and checking out different towns along the way we decided it was late enough in the afternoon to chill, which meant a shorter trip to Airlie Beach the next day.
Koumala is a small rural town located on the Bruce Highway a little south of Mackay and has a small very well-situated caravan park which is a credit to the owners. The managers who reside on the property are extremely helpful.

📍TV reception was touch and go for us. But that’s ok, we enjoyed sitting outside enjoying the evening. Just as well it was a mild night as this was when we realised our van’s air conditioner was not cooling as well as it normally did.
The Koumala Caravan Park had everything you could possibly want for a night and as it was not busy, we were able to stay hooked up.👌👏👍
