Home Made Pizza – Convection Oven

Sunday Pizzas

Sunday is often our day for chilling out if we are not travelling. Graeme makes the most delicious home made pizzas for lunch using some of the following ingredients and any leftover veggies or meat we find in the fridge.

Travelling in a caravan, and at home, we are always very conscious of not wasting food. So this is a great way to get rid of leftovers that you may have. This then gives us more room in the fridge to stock with other fresh produce.

Ingredients:

  • Wholegrain wraps for a thin base;
  • Salsa sauce;
  • Three cheeses mix grated;
  • Sliced left over meat (if you have some);
  • Jalapenos;
  • Olives;
  • Carrots;
  • Celery;
  • Beetroot (cooked);
  • Mushrooms;
  • Sliced red onion;
  • Fresh garlic;
  • Ginger;
  • Mixed Herbs;
  • Ground black pepper.

Spread some salsa over the base of the wrap. Slice or chop the vegetables into thin pieces and place over the wrap as you like. Once all the veggies, garlic, ginger, jalapenos and olives have been placed onto the wrap add a light covering of grated cheese to hold it all together. Sprinkle some mixed herbs, black pepper and any other seasoning you desire. We cook these in our convection oven for about 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Sometimes we add some other cheeses for a little bit of difference such as crumbed feta or brie.

Other fun ways to cook these ‘Sunday’ leftover pizza’s are under the grill, in the over or in the Weber Baby Q.

Slice into triangles and enjoy.
