Discovery Parks Forster
We pulled out of Tuncurry after spending a couple of nights at the Discovery Parks which borders the Wallamba River. Even though the weather was a tad cooler the sun was shining so that made for a be bit of activity on the river. Like water skiing, fishing, wake boarding.
The park has over 200 sites which are occupied by cabins, annual sites and permanent sites but only a dozen or so van/motor home sites which have power and water. The amenities, camp kitchen and grounds are clean and well maintained. Quite a few free bbq’s scattered throughout the park.
Unfortunately the park has hit and miss Wi-Fi but at the time of our visit they were in the process of upgrading. TV coverage was nil but that was not a deal breaker for us. Instead out comes the UNO and our ongoing challenge that we started some time ago. The camp kitchen just across the road from our van had excellent TV reception.
This is a great place for overnight stay or two and especially if you want to visit The Great Lakes area of Forster/Tuncurry. At the time we stayed (October, 2017) the rates were quite reasonable at $30 per night (Discover Park Members price) for a powered/water site.
The sunsets were pretty spectacular too.
This park gets our tick of approval.
Well that’s enough for now.
