Five Weeks on the Road

Although it’s only been five weeks that we have been travelling it seems  a lot longer. Maybe because we have just been having fun exploring different towns.

This is an update of where we have been. Be sure to follow the links for more information about each destination and loads of photos. Below is a brief description of where we have been. For the full stories make sure you follow the links.

Jeep and Jayco – Silo Art Trail in Victoria

  • Koonoomoo – At $10 with power for the night this place was very cool as we had it to ourselves. The smell of fresh strawberries everywhere.
  • Lake Boga Caravan Park – Another quite nice stay overlooking the Lake, but this park certainly taught us a lesson about parking so close to a Lake. You’ll need to follow the link to read more.
  • Brim Lake, Victoria – This was another fabulous find at a donation of $10 per night. No power or water, but they did have clean toilets and great park amenities.
  • Mount Gambier Big 4 Caravan Park – What can I say. This place has so much to see and do. Loved it.
  • Robe Holiday Caravan Park – beautiful beachside town and great Caravan Park.
  • Meningie Lake Albert Caravan Park – Very quiet with some nice walks along the Lake. Great for a break from travelling.
  • Mount Barker Caravan and Tourist Park – Very peaceful with clean amenities and large gravel drive thru sites.

We often stop in the towns we travel through to take a break and also to enjoy the history and sometimes other delights the town has to offer. Here are some we have thoroughly enjoyed.

Tocumwal Main Street

  • Tocumwal – NSW – Situated on the Murray River just near the Victorian border.
  • Edenhope – Victoria is very RV friendly and was a great lunch stop before heading into South Australia.
  • Port MacDonnell – South Australia – Another RV friendly town with so much to offer. Wish we would have known about this place prior to unhooking in Mount Gambier.
  • Hahndorf – Love this German inspired village which has so much charm.

Well that’s enough for now.
