Elliott Heads – QLD

I’m sorry in advance 🤦‍♀️ if these recent posts are becoming a little alike. But I can’t help it 😁 if these coastal villages in Queensland are awesome.

Oh and as I said in a previous post, those of you travelling with pets 🐾 you might want to stop reading now as the caravan park in Elliott Heads is not pet friendly. ☹

Elliott Heads has it all, a patrolled surf beach 🌊, the quiet Elliott River mouth, rock pools , expanses of golden sand, great walking paths and more. A great place for fishing or maybe if you’re into other water sports like canoeing🚣, kayaking or surf kiting.

The foreshore both at the northern and southern ends of the beach are very rocky.  If you catch the low tide the beach adjacent to the river mouth expands due the sand flats and years of tidal currents. If you’re lucky and catch the right tide you can walk out a few hundred metres seaward.

The Elliott Heads Holiday Park is situated opposite the patrolled beach which from what we have seen looks ideal for a lazy splash and bob-about.

🔌Power and water slab site – $35 per night – stay 7 pay 6 at the moment. Some of the sites are a little squeezy so best to check your site before parking.

🏡A few beach-front Cabins for those travelling without a caravan.

🚶Great ‘Coral Coast Pathway’ to enjoy a walk and take in the views overlooking a rocky shoreline and the crystal-clear waters of Wide Bay.

Across the road from the caravan park is a playground and also a lovely green grassed area with more BBQ’s for all to enjoy.

There’s also a great café called Driftwood which serves great coffee ☕️ and delicious bacon and egg 🥚🥩 rolls 🥖. It’s a really pleasant place to sit and enjoy the view.

If you need to pick up some basics like milk and bread then head on down to the Elliott Heads general store. They also have newspapers and take away food.

Elliott Heads is a great place to stay and explore the surrounding areas. It’s a 20-minute drive from Bundaberg and Burnett Heads or a short 15-minute drive to Bargara. Lots to do and see around this area and enjoy 👍.

Well that’s it for now from Elliott Heads

Cheers Dixie and Graeme 🥂😉😎
