LOW COST OVERNIGHT CAMPING
After leaving home and travelling the windy narrow Dorrigo Mountain roads (that will be a separate post coming soon) we decided to stay the night at Ebor. You will find this place on Wikicamps and it’s called the Ebor Sport & Rec Centre. When we arrived at around 3 pm there were a handful of vans. By nightfall we counted 11 vans. This place has nice grassed areas and also shady trees.
The camping area is within walking distance to the village and pub where you can enjoy a cold beer and some good old ‘pub grub’. You can also enjoy the beautiful Ebor Falls.
🚽Clean modern flushable toilets. It even had a soap dispenser so you can wash your hands.
🚰Water tank that has potable water.
🗑 Rubbish bins
📱 4G Telstra reception
🐮 If your lucky free rural entertainment.
This park is looked after by town volunteers and of course donations are welcome. You will find the donation box situated at the toilets. We were more than happy to donate to this lovely overnight stay. Some of the travelers we spoke to said they were staying for a couple of nights so that they could enjoy visiting the surrounding areas of the National Parks and waterfalls.
We thoroughly enjoyed watching the inquisitive calves checking out the campers before the drovers moved them on. Also the wonderful Kookaburras who love to wake you up in the morning. This made us feel quite at home at certain times of the year they sit right outside our bedroom window……well it feels like they do…….laughing up a storm.
Anyway well done Ebor. We can’t wait to find more places like this on our travels.
