Coffs Harbour, NSW to Burnett Heads, Queensland – 2020/21
We haven’t travelled very far since leaving Coffs Harbour in NSW since the end of September 2020 because of COVID of course. But slowly we have been making our way north in Queensland. Soon we will be travelling a little further north and looking forward to future travels.
In the meantime below is a map and also links that will take you to the pages of each place where we have been and the places we have stayed.
NSW
Iluka – Iluka is a small village on the Clarence River and situated straight across the river from resort town of Yamba.
Ballina – For those who are not familiar Ballina is a town in the Northern River Region of New South Wales. The town itself lies just inside the entrance of the Richmond River and hence the river in the background of yesterday’s pic after I had parked the caravan
.
Queensland
Beachmere – Beachmere is in between Deception Bay and Sandstone Point in the locality of Moreton Bay a little north of Brisbane.
Tin Can Bay – Tin Can Bay (TCB) is a little coastal village situated on the Cooloola Coast a few hours north of Brisbane.
Burrum Heads – After leaving Tin Can Bay, we travelled the approximately 120kms to Burrum Heads a totally relaxing small seaside village at the entrance of the Burrum River.
Woodgate Beach – This is yet another coastal town that seems to be extremely popular. In the past we never booked a caravan park more than a day or so in advance, but with this trip we have found it necessary as everywhere has been very very busy.
Elliott Heads – Elliott Heads has it all, a patrolled surf beach 
, the quiet Elliott River mouth, rock pools , expanses of golden sand, great walking paths and more. A great place for fishing or maybe if you’re into other water sports like canoeing
, kayaking or surf kiting.
Burnett Heads – The Burnett Heads Lighthouse Holiday Park is a great place to base yourself if you’re visiting the Bundaberg region. It’s a 15-minute drive from the city centre of Bundaberg and about 10 minutes to Bargara and an even shorter drive to Mon Repos Turtle rookery.
