Enjoying a couple of nights free camping beside the Calliope River in Queensland. Our site overlooks to the other side of the river where others are camped. It is a very popular area as we woke this morning to see about 20 vans, motor homes, 5th wheelers etc parked on both sides. Toilet facilities and rubbish bins are provided and the toilets are very well maintained. Loved our two night stay. Stays can accommodate up to 48 hours. Great area for walking and make sure you visit the Calliope Historical Village which shows some of the old buildings and more from around the area. Oh and a warning we have now entered Crocodile country 🙂 Thanks Gladstone Regional Council for providing such great free facilities.
