We stayed at the Big 4 Ingenia Holiday Cairns Coconut Resort. This park is approximately 28 acres and has everything you could possibly need to make your stay enjoyable. Upon arrival we were taken by one of the friendly staff in a buggy to explore the park. This was fabulous as it gave us an understanding of where everything was. This park is ‘HUGE’. 🙂
The park has great access to either grass or slab sites, powered or unpowered, for caravans situated throughout the beautifully maintained gardens. On our powered site with a slab they also provided a table and chairs. The park is popular to all types of travellers, camper vans, motorhomes, camp/tent trailers.
The amenities are modern and clean and provide hair dryers in both the ladies and men’s. The shower even has a matt to stand on after getting out of the shower. The laundry has ample washing machines and dryers and a couple of irons and ironing boards and there is more than one laundry. Walking around this large park we have found a couple of smaller laundries. So absolutely no problem in doing your laundry and waiting for a machine to become available. However, it may be different when the park is full.
Amenities
Other facilities in the park include:
- Campers kitchen with a great little herb garden for all to use.
- Free BBQ’s are located throughout the resort for the convenience of patrons.
- A 30m garden pool which is heated during the winter months and cooled for the summer months. This area also has an adults only spa.
- The Sun Lagoon pool area caters more for children and even has a children’s spa.
- There are also two big jumping pillows and a great kids playground.
- Everyday a courtesy bus departs from the resort shop to the inner city of Cairns. We hopped on the bus one Sunday and enjoyed the fact that we didn’t to worry about finding parking etc., and had a great day exploring the Esplanade and it’s many cafes and restaurants and of course the very beautiful swimming lagoon. This courtesy bus service runs a couple of times a day. Just ask the lovely people at reception.
- Fuel is available on the premises as is gas top ups.
