As you can see from the previous post we have completed the “Silo Art Trail” in Victoria. We gave ourselves plenty of time to travel along the trail and spent a great overnighter at Brim Lakeside Park on the Yarriambiack Creek.
Thank goodness we found this fabulous place through WikiCamps. The reason I say that is that we had actually stopped and looked at a couple of other sites beforehand.
Unfortunately they were either full or just did not feel right. So now we were starting to feel concerned as to where to pull up for the night. Sometimes you need to listen to your gut feeling and go the extra mile. Wow we were so impressed when we drove into Brim Lakeside Park.
Obviously you need to get in early to get a powered site. We don’t need a powered site and so we were very happy to camp in a much less crowded space beside the Lake.
The site we chose was a level and gravelled facing the creek. Just beautiful. After setting up we were greeted by the resident caretaker who called in to make sure everyone was happy and OK. His companions were two beautiful 5 year old puppies, brother and sister, named ‘Good Boy and Karma’. I fell in love with them instantly.
This great overnight stop set us back a donation of $10. Yes you heard it correctly. This place was awesome, the amenities clean and well cared for and the area where we stayed in was very spacious. We almost felt like we were the only ones there.
Thank you Brim Lions Club you have done a great job.
